This antenna implements Shakespeare’s innovative filter technology that helps get pager and other intermod interference under control in installations demanding taller, higher gain antennas.  In busy radio areas like harbors, the antenna’s filter can make a big difference in how much “RF garbage” you hear.  Working with your radio’s own rejection circuitry, the 5018-FLT can actually improve the fidelity of your VHF radio.  Except for the added filter, the 5018-FLT is otherwise like the acclaimed Style 5018.  Its highly sophisticated design is outstanding for long distance communications, and it’s extra rugged for salt water durability and stability in high winds.

DC Ground: Yes normally means the antenna will test as shorted when checked with an ohm meter. However, although this antenna has DC Ground, this antenna will read open circuit, because of the filter.
